I immediately thought of your story and want to be an encouragement to her. She has never fully committed her life to the Lord but has acknowledged that she believes. What a precious person you are, the love of God flows from your lips and your eyes. I'm thankful for your life and how you have allowed God to use you in the midst of affliction. You are a source of encouragement to me. After watching the other videos I noticed this one and it was hard of me to believe...cancer? Like you haven't already been through enough, God knows His purpose.

27. reformed09: Hi Joni I seen your testimony and praise the lord for what he has done in you to bring glory to himself and to show others the love of Christ. 1 John 4:10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 2 Corinthians 5:21 God (The Father) made him (Jesus the son/ God became a man) who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we can become the righteousness of God.  Here is a few paragraphs of how the Lord our God took  a mess like me and made it into a message to bring glory to himself. The late hours of August 19th 2002 I was taken in to the ER due to a traumatic motorcycle accident. (Colossians 3:8) I don’t remember much about the accident other than I could not make a turn at a very high speed I felt in-explainable pain and everything went black. I woke up 10 days later from a coma at the CMC hospital and was in critical condition. I had suffered the following injuries: Compound fracture of right tibia (titanium rod) shattering fibula, broke all ribs, punctured right lung, compound fracture right radius (titanium plate), compound fracture right scapula shredding right latissimus dorsi (leaving limited amount of functional muscle), lacerated liver resulting in bleeding out and consequently flat lining 2 times on electrocardiogram then being revived with the AED life shock pads. As a result of all these injuries I was placed in inpatient trauma unit for over a month. During this time at the hospital I was in and out of surgeries for skin grafts (skin from my leg to cover the hole in my back) and was doing rehabilitation much of which was a dream state. The rehab was all directed by a trauma rehab specialist and executed in my hospital bed for I could not walk yet. Most of my rehab was being shown pictures to identify objects and being asked questions about if i remembered certain things (In the beginning I didn't know anyone and had to be told i had a child) I used a bed pan and had a catheter in so I didn't need to get up to go to the bathroom or leave my bed at any time nor could I do so.  After my time at the Hospital was completed I was place in a medical van chained in while still in my wheelchair and was transferred to an impatient rehabilitation center where I would stay for an additional month. At this rehab I was given more to do such as brushing my teeth my hair (needed to learn hygiene with opposite functioning arm) and eventually give myself a shower in a shower chair. I was still being monitored while I was eating due to my inability to swallow properly because my throat muscles we not strong yet due to the feeding tube that I had in previously ( I did choke and the nurse helped me on one occasion). I was directed to walk between parallel bars and they were still showing me flashcards and giving memory task with the Alzheimer's patients ever so often to identify objects in pictures to keep my mind active (This was no problem I knew everything I seen by this point). I was also given rehab on my right arm due to severed nerves consequently that prevented my arms capacity to function from my elbow down to my fingers. The arm was completely paralyzed and I used my left arm to place my right arm where it need to be (Job 1:21). I was told that these nerves may not regenerate and my arm may always be paralyzed (Hebrews 12:6-7 Proverbs 3:12). Eventually after the many weeks of inpatient rehabilitation was done, I was discharged and the medical staff sent a nurse to my home and continued treatment to prevent frozen shoulder, help nerve regeneration and do exercises to re-establish strength in my muscles. I was also anxiously anticipating another surgery to remove the external fixator from my right leg to eventually get a titanium rod surgically implanted in the bone. The rehab was all done by a nurse who came to my home to treat me in my bed. I was given a hospital shower chair and wheeled myself around the house using my one leg and one arm to get around. After a few weeks of this at home I was given the option to be picked up and dropped off every other day by the rehab van to an outpatient rehab facility where my treatment continued. I did this for several weeks and was on my way to recovery with many limitations. Although none of this made sense at the time and could not see how this had any purpose in my life . I have come to realize that I was not a victim of an accident. But instead a child of the most high who even at this point still had a wicked prideful heart and was not done walking among them (Ephesians 2:3) .This pride that God hates would result in more to be learned before our Sovereign God would send his son to save me. (Proverbs 6:16-17 John 6:44 John 6:39 John 10:28-29 Romans 9:16 Hebrews 12:6) Proverbs 6:16 There are six things that the LORD hates, seven that are an abomination to him:A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood... Hebrews 12:6 because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son." Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father?If you are not disciplined, then you are illegitimate children and not true sons.Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live! If you would like I will write a post to you explaining how and when the lord saved me in September of 2008. May the lord continue to use you and your testimony!

38. ALina Betancourt: Hi Joni and Ken. Recently my mom died of cancer after a 3 year fight. She and I were very close and I not only lost mom, but I lost my best friend. She had strong faith and kept believing for a healing until her last breath. By the way her breathing was extremely labored that last month and pain was excruciating. She never stopped praising God. Her faith during suffering was a witness of Gods supernatural power and faithfulness. She could have curesed Him for what she went through. Somehow, invisible to our eyes, something was happening in the spiritual because her testimony of Him got stronger as she got sicker in body. I saw really good things happen within this valley of death. Yet i have been so stumbled by the while suffering issue. I was under teaching that said shed be physical healed. Of course it is what God wants for her...a strong health body. I believed it would happen. I knew he could do it. My teachers didnt teach me very much about the suffering part of the Bible or how God uses it. This experience has left me feeling I don really know God. He feels far away. If what it took was enough faith to be healed, mom had it. We both Walker in treatment Reding the Bible and claiming scriptures together. But she passed. Cáncer ravaged her body as I watched. Strange things is we both did have a peace in that valley of death. I thought i was processing the grief ok, trying to not lose faith, then 2 days ago my teen daughter tells us she is pregnant from a young man who still gets a weekly allowance for chores he does at home. I felt like the little bit of progress of climbing out of a black pit was lost when a bunch of new dirt was put into the ditch i am in. I know things could be so much Worse in my life. There is still much to be grateful for. Yet still all i can do is get out of bed. I feel ashamed to admit i dont want to Go on living. I cant listen to my old teachers and can hardly open my Bible. You Speaker of the hidden sicknesses of the heart that come to light in suffering. I am overwhelmed at my own dark thoughts and lack of love. I am disgusted at my little faith and big Pity Party. I just want you to know your life testimony and how God has used it is why i am alive to write to you. It has cost you everything to shine Him through you. I want to thanks you. Your message is the truest and purest Christian message i have heard in a very Long time. You are an example, the best i have heard, about how GOD DOESN`T ALWAYS HEAL, BUT HE ALWAYS HEALS. HE IS FAITHFUL TO HIS WORD. HE DOES IT IN.HIS OWN WAY AND IN HIS WON TIME. Sister, great is your reward! Thank you for your faithfulness. God used you to keep me alive!
