As a quadriplegic of 46 years, Joni Eareckson Tada shares the lessons she's learned from her battle against breast cancer.

2. Warm sunset 62: Even though THIS TIME yesterday my mother passed away. Yet even now --> there is b e a u t y to see. i choose to see what IS eternal.
3. Patsy Frazier: Joni, I have been put on the front lines of service. I was called to move into a senior living facility. I am using our mutual friend a wheelchair due to a broken back that was not.properly taken care of by the Med. Prof. I am independent and of course Our Father in His sense of humor (I love) decided this was a good place to put a nurse, and a nosey talkative one to boot. We have seen a lady healed that was on hospice, thru prayer. I have had a chance to do as the Lord command us, to preach the gospel.I have been able to make contact with some with dementia with my little, Pete, a Chihuahua,They love to pet him. We do whatever He sets before us. Please pray that I will be salt and light here, and that I will see these dear ones thru His eyes.

God is using this,teaching me, molding me & I'm lean on Him & trust Him. But Dec. 2010, we found it had reoccured. So 6 months of more chemo. June 2011, all looked good again. End of Sept, my #s were back up. Nov. 2011 we knew for sure it had reoccured. So now chemo, indefinitely. But it is okay. God is in control, God is good. I will trust Him.

I deal with disability and chronic pain and poverty. you getting cancer is sort of how I feel.when I had my neck injured effecting my arms on top of back disc pain effecting my legs. the neck injury was one more painful condition I didn't need and I have spent a lot of down time in bed every day with pain and migraines. etc. I have hung tightly to Jesus in my aloneness and challenges. i am grateful to God for yr messages. thank u and I will keep u in my prayers too.

28. JJ Cevering: My Dad Val has suffered a terrible accident recently from which he now has rabdomyolisis. He is facing the amputation of his left arm, but is not healthy enough to undergo the surgery just yet, or risk the possibility of infection..to which he is very suceptible being a diabetic and 73 yrs of age. He is on dialysis now to aid his kidneys that are failing due to the toxins in the bloodstream from dead tissue His right arm and left leg are 100% paralyzed, so if he survives through the next few days..and surgery, he will live the rest of his days, a sort of parapalegic. No use of his hands or arms, or left leg, no walking, but wheelchair bound and in need of complete assistance with every thing. He is in ICU and can't have a drink of water or any food, and as of yet, no feeding tube either. Just his IV fluids and the dialysis.. but today he got to sit up and try ice chips. He is in good spirits and is still smiling and telling his dry humor jokes and witty comebacks. His wife passed away 3 years ago, but us kids (5 of the 8 are still here on earth, alive) want to be a great support and our children, his grandchildren, a joy and a comfort. Please pray that in the event he doesn't survive, that the grandchildren will not be devastated, but bounce back as he would want them to. And should he survive and learn to live completely dependent, that we will be strengthened to be there for him as much as we possiblI can. For now, we are set on making every day we DO have with him, a great one. I love you Joni. Youv'e inspired and encouraged me through many illnesses and trials over the years, that together with the Lord, we have overcome. Praying always for you & Ken and your ministry. 29. Tilltheend: Kathy Humphries listen to your husband. God is not going to punish you...you seem to have a wrong understanding of God in this particular area. Be not afraid. God loves you. You would not live with a cavity thinking God will punish you for going to the dentist...medicine has its time and purpose. Even the Lord tells us in Revelation to buy medicine for our eyes...i know its figurative speech but it shows that medicine has a purpose.

In the midst of darkness and depression, I called out to the God of mercy and He delivered me. The situation has not changed but I have the strength to go on! What a Savior and friend!

I was born with a disability dislocated hip with limp left side shorter .Had hip surgery as child and surgery on both my feet so I could walk .And now I had a total hip replacement on the left side it was getting worse no range of motion and hard to sleep and back pain. And still need in the future to have another foot surgery on the right foot. And here more news I have cancer at age of 50. And yes the Lord is faithful and He will never leave me or forsake. Lord, grace, and mercy ,love, peace and learning to have joy through all of my health issues. Lord, is always with even when I am down cast I can to God and be honest and really truely in my heart God loves and for God Glory. I will be a living testimony for God Glory. In Jesus Name.Amen

She doesn't know if there is a heaven, if the bible , as we have it now, is accurate, if there is a heaven, or hell. Where is the evidence for her beliefs ? 50. Allan JC: Dear Barbara. In 1990 Jesus made himself known to me. It was an incredible profoundly personal encounter of His love that was to change everything. From that day on I came to two realisations. 1 Staggeringly - Jesus is really alive. 2 the Bible is what it claims to be - - Gods word to us. Suffering in life can play its part for the believer, God's 'alchemy' if you like, to bring us to trust and lean on Him more and more and in ourselves less and less as we fail. Read the story of Moses, Abraham, Joseph, Job (in particular), and Jesus. Read Pauls life. "My strength is made perfect in your weakness" God spoke to Paul personally in prayer as he suffered tremendous trials in his life. Joni is a very humbling example of this. Her life exhibits a tremendous strength out of tremendous weakness and trial. I ask you only to turn to Jesus and ask Him if what i say is true. If your sincere, in His time and in His way he will make Himself known to you as He did for me. My lifes not been easy since, in many ways deeply difficult, im raising an Autistic daughter, suffer health issues too. But for His continued love and and ever present Grace to bear the load id not have made it this far. Jesus knew suffering, read Isaiah the 53rd Chapter, Psalm 22. This life is a breath really, the Bible makes that clear over and over, then were gone. All eternity awaits us. Joni is fully assured of Gods unfailing love, so am I. Her healing may not come in this life but her life now is an encouragement and blessing to so many, especially the disabled and down trodden. See her charity 'Joni and Friends' and see what a great deal of good it does throughout the world, especially the disabled poorest of the poor, its humbling. In Gods good hands, suffering and trial can bring us into a deeper and deeper revelation of Gods presence as we trust Him for His strength, His love, His patience, because ours fail in the storms. Paul wrote 'its no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me'. Paul had been brought to and end of himself but now another Life was present to bear Him up and carry him through. Joni is an shining example of this for over 50 years now since her accident. Without Gods present Grace and love, lifes suffering will likely leave us embittered, with it though we can get the victory and overcome. Read the beattitudes. Mankind without God is the antithises of what Jesus describes here really. Blessed are the Humble, the meek, the downtrodden and the like Jesus said. Suffering has its way, as a tool in Gods good hands, to bring us to where we could never have gone. This is mere a youtube comment. I pray Barbara that something of what i say here can help you. 52. daughterfromgrace: I am okay. I am resting & trusting Him. The chemo I was on, has stopped working. The clinical trial they want to put me on has been put on hold. Now waiting for their 2nd choice. But it is good, Because God is good. He must need me in this other chemo room for a reason. 57. Kathy Humphries: Joni I suffer with cronic bladder pain. It feels like a torch burning me on my pelvic floor and do live on pain medicine . If I didn't, I would be sitting on the couch all day on a heating pad with my boys seeing me cry. I don't want them to see me in that situation, however I worry that God might punish me for being on pain medicine. My husband believes that I should stay on the pain medicine. I am so confused. Do you believe the Lord would cast me away for being on pain meds?

So lovely to see you after only ever hearing about you when I was a child, some 30 years ago, reading one of your books 20 years ago and hearing various things about you from other Christians over the years.
